Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. However, there are some situations in which the chances of an accident taking place increase. One of these situations is overtaking. People in our country are not patient enough to wait for the perfect moment to overtake, and they make erratic moves on the road. These then cause accidents, and recently, showcasing this same thing, a video has been shared online. It shows a Maruti Suzuki WagonR and an Ertiga getting involved in accidents due to careless overtaking.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR overtaking accident
This video of the accidents due to dangerous overtaking has been shared on YouTube by Prateek Singh on his channel. It starts off with the vlogger first showing an accident involving a Maruti Suzuki WagonR. What happens in this particular accident is that a WagonR comes right in front of a truck, which it was trying to overtake, and crashes.
It can be noted that the WagonR driver thought there was enough space for him to overtake on a normal, flowing traffic road. However, just as he was about to make the move, a bike rider comes in front of him, and he turns his vehicle to the right. Due to this, his car’s rear right comes in contact with the bumper of the truck.
Following this, he immediately gets clung, and his car turns and comes in front of the truck. Thankfully, the truck driver applies the brakes on time. However, by this time, the WagonR had already sustained damage. It can be noted that both doors were heavily damaged, but thankfully, no one was reported to be seriously injured.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga crash while overtaking
The same video then goes on to show another accident involving a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV. In this particular incident, which was recorded from a bus’s dashcam, it was noted that the entire fault was the Ertiga driver’s. What happens is that the Ertiga was being driven at a very high speed on a road where the traffic was moving at normal speed.
The video shows that the Ertiga driver, while carrying this speed, tries to overtake the bus from the left. However, what happens is he immediately notices that there is a bike rider in the left lane, and in order to avoid him, the car driver turns the car to the right. Due to this extremely sudden lane change and his high speed, he could not control the vehicle.
Eventually, it crashes into the divider on the road, causing a huge accident. The Ertiga in the video can be seen flipping on its side after hitting the divider. Thankfully, no casualties were reported from this accident.
As mentioned, in this particular accident, the entire fault was the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga driver’s. First off, overtaking should never be done from the left lane. Secondly, he was driving at a much higher speed than is allowed on such city roads. Thankfully, the vehicle did not cross the road after hitting the divider; otherwise, it would have caused a bigger accident involving other vehicles from the opposite lane.
