Driving is a responsible task. The person driving a car or any vehicle on a public road should be careful and responsible at all times. In a country like India, where there are lots of challenges such as cattle, jaywalkers, and people driving on the wrong side of the road, the level of risk increases even more. Lately, we have come across several incidents where people actually got into accidents because of other people’s faults. Here, we have a video from Punjab showing a Toyota Innova Hycross driver driving into a canal after a fly enters his eye.
The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. The vlogger took this video from a local news channel that reported these accidents. We have seen several videos where a small mistake by the driver often causes serious accidents, and this is one such instance. The Innova Hycross seen in the video is a brand new MPV. The car was only a few days old, and the owner, along with his family, was returning after visiting a temple in Himachal Pradesh. While coming back, a fly managed to get into the car’s cabin.
The fly started irritating the driver and it even got into his eye, and in order to get rid of it, the driver finally rolled the windows down and started trying to get the fly out. This was being done in a car that was still moving forward. Suddenly, the car approached a curve, and the Toyota Innova driver was distracted. He did not see the turn, and the Toyota Innova Hycross fell into the canal.
The canal was filled with water and was quite deep. It was so deep that the whole car got submerged. The locals saw the accident and immediately rushed to the spot to help. They pulled everyone out of the car in no time. The car was completely in the water, but thankfully, none of the passengers were injured in any manner. Once the passengers were all out of the car, the locals and the owner arranged a crane, and using tow ropes, they pulled the brand new MPV out of the water.
In the video, we can see that the Toyota Innova looks brand new. We do not see much damage on the exterior of the car. From the video, it looks like there is no wall between the canal and the road. This could also have been a reason why the driver did not notice the canal in front of him. The Toyota Innova Hycross was completely submerged in water, and it looks like the interior and the electronics are all damaged. Most modern cars have a lot of electrical wiring and sensors in them. Many of them get damaged if they face a situation like this.
A small insect like a fly caused the accident in this case, and it is a clear example of how attentive one has to be while driving a car. If you ever come across a situation like this, it is always a good idea to stop the vehicle on the side and get the fly or insect out first, and then continue driving. Thankfully, there were not many vehicles on this road, and it did not even crash into other vehicles before falling into the canal. We really hope the car does not have too many issues after this accident, as repairing it is going to be an expensive affair.
