The video has been shared online on various social media platforms. As per the reports, the incident happened in the Sodala area in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The car had caught fire due to a short circuit. The owner or the driver of the car had escaped from the vehicle as soon as he spotted the smoke coming out from under the bonnet.
The driver stopped the vehicle and pulled the handbrake. After the driver escaped, the car caught fire almost immediately and as the car caught fire, the handbrake of the SUV failed. The SUV was parked on an elecvated road or a flyover As the car caught fire, many two-wheeler riders stopped to see the sight.
As seen in the video here, some of them were even recording same on their phones. However, they weren’t expecting the burning vehicle to move forward. When the handbrake of the vehicle failed, the SUV started rolling forward and the poeple gathered around the vehicle started running away.
They panicked and picked up their vehicle and moved it away from the path of the SUV. One of the bike as seen here in the video was unable to escape with his bike and he decided to leave the bike at the spot. Thankfully, the SUV didn’t damage the bike much. The SUV was not moving towards the shoulder but, towards the middle of the road.
This was an extremely dangerous situation as the vehicle had picked up speed while on its way down. Thankfully no one was injured in this accident as everyone managed to move away from the path of the burning vehicle on time.
The vehicle eventually stopped after crashing into the divider on the road. While there are reports of short circuit, nothing is confirmed yet.
We are not sure if the car had any after market accessories installed or was it simply because of the poor maintenance that this issue occured. The video shows why it is extremely important to get your vehicle inspected and service in a timely manner. There were even cases where car had caught fire after a fuel leak.
Some of them even carry petrol in bottles inside the car as backup. This often heats up inside the car and causes fire. Other than this, we have also reported several incidents where people have claimed that a type of fly was actually cutting the petrol line on car due to the presence of ethanol in them. These flies pierce through the thick rubber hose and cause fuel leakage.
