Porsche Introduces The All-New 911 Carrera T

Porsche has announced that it is adding the 911 Carrera T variant to the 911 model line, positioned between the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. In this new iteration, the letter T stands for “Touring”, signifying models with equipment and upgrades that enhance the driving experience for Porsche owners.

The all-new 911 Carrera T is standardly equipped with a 7-speed manual transmission and rear seat delete, although the rear seat is available as a no-cost option. Adopting the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from the 911 Carrera, the Carrera T generates 379 horsepower and 331 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard on the 911 Carrera S, the T variant also utilizes a mechanical limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), a feature unavailable for the 911 Carrera.

The standard 7-speed manual transmission on the 911 Carrera T accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, with a top track speed of 181 mph. The 911 Carrera T includes standard features like the Sport Chrono Package and PASM Sport Suspension, with Rear Axle Steering optionally available.

Further distinguishing the model is equipment specific to the T, including 20” Titanium Grey Carrera S front wheels and 21-inch tires at the rear. The 911 Carrera T includes interior features like the GT Sport steering wheel, Sport Exhaust System, and four-way Sport Seats Plus.

The original Porsche 911 Carrera T introduced itself to the public as a touring car when it was released in 1968. The original 911 T was offered until it was discontinued in 1973 before being revived in 2017. The concept has since been successfully implemented in other model lines, including the 718 Boxster T, 718 Cayman T, and Macan T.

The 911 Carrera T will arrive at U.S. dealerships by Spring 2023 with a starting MSRP of $116,600, excluding a $1,450 delivery, processing, and handling fee.
