Porsche South Orlando Wins Regional Restoration Challenge



Porsche South Orlando recently unveiled a stunning submission to the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge: a 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera, transformed into a Porsche 911 Carrera “RSR Tribute” through a a stunning collection of modifications. Unlike a preservation-based or restoration-based project, the restomodded car was entered into the Individualization category of the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, a category in which contestants are able to express creativity, execute visions, and embody the “Sonderwunsch” aspect of Porsche’s brand.

With an incredible 75 years of history to pay homage to, the possibilities are boundless, and in the regional competition, the beautiful Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Tribute took home the prize for the Individualization category, and will be moving on to compete on the national level soon.

This year’s 2023 competition introduced the Individualization category, and the result is a blossom of new, unique, and creative submissions to the competition that celebrate Porsche’s history in a similar way to the Preservation and Restoration projects. In each category, Preservation, Restoration, and Individualization, which is the category that Porsche South Orlando’s 911 Carrera RSR Tribute will be competing in, the winning finalists will be awarded as part of the various celebrations taking place at Porsche’s anticipated Rennsport Reunion 7, taking place at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from September 28 to October 1.
