Rajasthan Deputy CM Apologises For Son's Jeep Stunt (Video)


Recently, a video showing the son of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa had gone viral, for a very unpleasant reason. It showed him attempting dangerous driving on public roads, in broad daylight and breaking traffic rules. To make things worse, he was being escorted by a Rajasthan police vehicle. The video has since been amassing massive criticism. Now, the deputy CM himself himself has apologized for the deeds of his son. He has also let out an explanation for the incident. Before we move into the details, here is the viral video:

Deputy CM’s Apology

Prem Chand Bairwa issued an apology on Friday saying that he doesn’t own the vehicle, and only came to know about the incident after the video went viral. He further explained that he addressed the issue with his son, immediately after it. The official statement of apology said:

“My son has just passed his senior level, and the people seen with him in the video are his school friends. They come from well-off families and own cars. He sat in one of those cars, and as soon as I found out, I called him.”

“I don’t want any problem to arise in my party or anywhere else because of me. That is why I apologise for the fact that my son went with those children. He will not do such a thing and I have explained it to him.”

The Deputy CM, who also happens to be a second-time BJP MLA from the Dudu constituency, went on to say that he doesn’t own a car and that his wife’s vehicle is in their village.

The Controversial Jeep Stunt:

Let’s discuss the controversial video. In what appears to have been filmed for an Instagram reel, the Deputy CM’s son is seen driving an open Jeep, with three other young people seated inside. One of them was Congress leader Pushpendra Bhardwaj’s son.

The jeep is shown roaming through the streets of Jaipur, often driven recklessly and hardly adhering to traffic rules. It gets a lot of modifications gone into it and rides on monstrous wheels. Building such vehicles is common among the affluent in Jaipur.

The driver is seen flaunting his power and swag by flouting lane and traffic rules. To make things worse, the later part of the video shows a Rajasthan Police vehicle escorting the Jeep.

At some point in time, there are even some visuals of the Jeep that were shot from inside the escort vehicle, most likely by one of the policemen. Part of the cop wireless system can be seen in those visuals, reconfirming the same. The escort vehicle is registered in the name of the Transport Department, which falls under the Deputy CM.

The Public Reacts

The video has heavily triggered the public. People are flooding the comment section with stark criticism of the misuse of power. Public display of non-adherence to rules by a guy with reputation/public figure/ kin to a VIP- we know how offensive that can be and how bad an example it can set. Citing the same, people are demanding an immediate investigation into the issue.

Netizens are also extremely agitated by the cop vehicle which shows sheer arrogance and blind misuse of power. Blames also fall on the Rajasthan Police Department for the same.

Some people also go vocal about how sons of those in power enjoy unfair power and privileges and are often exempted from being held responsible for crimes or unfair practices. The video has indeed heated up the political side of things as well.
