Red Bull didn’t just bring out some random drivers to pilot the vehicles, as some serious racing pedigree is on display. The F1 car was driven by AlphaTauri’s Liam Lawson (who recently made his F1 debut), the MotoGP bike was ridden by MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa, the RallyCross car by FIA World Rallycross champion Timmy Hansen, the World Rally Championship by Adrien Fourmaux (with amateurs Matt Jones and CarWow’s Matt Watson also piloting), and finally, the Ford SuperVan 4.2 was raced by Romain Dumas.
Now that the scene is set let’s get to the action. For the first race, the pros piloted all of the vehicles except for the Puma RallyCross car driven by Matt Watson.
Despite this, the MotoGP bike and the Puma are the first off the line with a healthy head start. For a second, it looks like it could be close between the two, that is, until the bike catches all of its traction and shoots off into the sunset. Soon, the F1 car also gets into the meat of its power and slingshots past, but the RallyCross has just enough lead to barely beat the WRC car to the finish. Race one to the motorcycle.
