Mohanlal is one of the biggest stars in the Malayalam movie industry. Like many actors from the industry, Mohanlal is also known for having great taste in expensive cars and SUVs. Mohanlal is known to have a soft spot for classic cars and even has a Hindustan Ambassador Mark 4, which was actually his first car. Another vintage car in his collection is a Cadillac. This car has an interesting story behind it, as it was once owned by Reliance Group founder Dhirubhai Ambani.
The post was shared on the eisk007 Instagram page and shows the American luxury car parked in front of Mohanlal’s brand new Range Rover. The car was actually bought by famous film producer K Balaji, who is also Mohanlal’s father-in-law. Balaji originally purchased this Cadillac from Ambani and even featured the same car in many movies that he produced. In one of the movies, the car was even used by the villain character. The car seen in the image is actually a 1958 model left-hand drive Cadillac sedan. For a 38-year-old car, this sedan looks extremely well-maintained.
It is said that Mohanlal started working on this luxury sedan a few years ago. The car was originally located in Chennai, but Mohanlal brought this American luxury sedan to Kochi and started restoration work. The original shade of this sedan was Deep Red or Maroon. The restoration work on this sedan was done by Flamingo garage in Kochi. Along with the restoration work, the car was repainted as well. It now gets a white shade, which looks elegant on the car. Just like any American car, the Cadillac seen here looks huge. In fact, it looks wider than the Range Rover parked behind it. The post does not mention when K. Balaji had bought this luxury sedan from Ambani, but the sedan has a registration number of MAS 2100.

The exact model of the Cadillac is not available. However, by looking at the picture, it looks like a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 4-door sedan. This sedan was available in both coupe and sedan. The car was available with a variety of engine options. The exact engine specification of the car is not known at the moment, but there are reports that suggest that the car is equipped with an automatic transmission.
As mentioned above, the actor has a soft spot for vintage or classic cars. He owns a 1986 model Hindustan Ambassador Mk4 in Grey shade. Mohanlal has a decent collection of luxury cars in his garage. He is a Toyota fan and has several models from the brand, including Land Cruiser and Toyota Innova Crysta. He used to own the first-generation Toyota Innova and was also one of the first celebrities in Kerala to buy the Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV. Mohanlal likes Toyota so much that he has not one but two Innova Crysta MPVs. The actor recently bought the flagship Range Rover SUV. He bought the 4.4-liter V8 Autobiography variant, which is the LWB version, and the ex-showroom price for the same is around Rs 3.32 crore.
