Rolls-Royce Coachbuild, the division responsible for the Droptail, Sweptail, and Boat Tail creations, handled the creation of Arcadia’s colorway. The client requested a “timeless white” that looks solid at first glance but appears more complex under natural light, so Coachbuild designers painted the body in a solid white infused with aluminum and glass particles, creating an effervescent shimmer that “creates the illusion of unending depth in the paint.” This was achieved, in part, through the use of larger-than-usual aluminum particles, or metal flakes, in the paint.
Rolls-Royce notes that, unlike all the other Droptails (including that which is yet to be revealed), Arcadia’s lower carbon fiber sections are not left unpainted. Instead, these areas are finished in a silver created by the Bespoke division.
It seems Rolls-Royce has not shown us images of Arcadia with this detail, as the lower black sections seen in these images appear identical to those on other Droptails.
