Supercar culture in India has grown over the years, with a decent population of exotic cars spread across different parts of the country. While most of these cars are maintained well by their owners, once in a while, we come across images of abandoned supercars too. Some of these cars are abandoned by their owners, while others are involved in legal issues and are seized by government agencies. Here we have an Aston Martin Rapide sports car that has been parked in the basement of a building in Mumbai for years now.

The images of this abandoned Aston Martin Rapide have been shared by Automobili Ardent on their Instagram page. While in most cases, we know the reason why such cars are abandoned, this one remains a mystery. There is no information related to the owner, and the registration number of the car is not clearly visible either.
The post says, “A Rapide left in an underground parking for a few years with the doors unlocked and a window rolled down. Does anyone know what’s the story here?” The comment section under this video is filled with people making guesses about who this car actually belongs to. One of them wrote, “The famous Ambani crash car?”
To this, the person who posted the images replied that this is a different car. The Ambanis had a Rapide S, and this is just a Rapide. Also, the Ambanis’ car was registered in Maharashtra, while this car has Tamil Nadu registration.
Another user guessed that this car belonged to the conman “SUKESH CHANDRASHEKHAR.” As of now, there is no clarity on who the owner of this car was. The car was unlocked, and the windows are also rolled down. The car is covered in dust, and as the windows are down, the dust has entered the cabin too.
As it is parked in a basement, the exact color of the car is not clear. It looks like the car is finished in a shade of black (we could be wrong too). The interiors are finished in brown and black dual-tone. Other than the dust, everything else looks in good condition.
One user commented, “Usually when the batteries really die on cars like these they tend to do absurd things like unlock the car or even roll down the windows, so maybe someone left it locked but whenever they return, they’ll find it in its current shape.”
We feel that is what might have happened in the case of this car. Some of them are even asking the admin to post a picture with the registration numbers, and some are asking for the current location of the car too. It is not clear at the moment whether the car was involved in an incident or was simply left abandoned by its owner.
The Aston Martin Rapide is quite popular among wealthy Indians. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh owns one. His Rapide is wrapped in a blue shade. The Rapide is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 470 Bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission, and power is sent to the rear wheels.
