Sim-Racer Drives Real-Life Drift Car For The First Time With Epic Results

The entire time O’Sullivan went sideways, he showed full control of the 900-horsepower turbocharged beast and cleanly went through the course Litteral’s team had prepared. Arguably, O’Sullivan displayed his ability to adapt to controlled oversteer just as fast as when Max Verstappen learned to drift with Mad Mike Whiddett.

Max, of course, is a champion F1 driver, but guess what? The common factor between the two is sim racing. Verstappen is known to use sim racing to hone his skills to prepare him for F1.

We’ve also seen sim racers achieve greatness before, with one such example recently being sprung into the limelight courtesy of the Gran Turismo movie, which was inspired by the real-life story of Jann Mardenborough who became a professional racing driver with the Nissan GT Academy after participating in a sim racing competition.
