Finally, Subaru will compete in the 2023 season of the All Japan Rally Championship with a newly formed Subaru Rally Challenge team. Thanks to the revision of regulations for this series, Subaru is developing a new vehicle based on the JDM-only WRX S4. Subaru aims to reduce weight and will only introduce the vehicle in the middle of the season, once again utilizing the FA24 2.4-liter turbo motor.
It’s great to see a brand with so much rich racing pedigree once again taking on the crucible of motorsport, but if you’re anything like us, you’re pining for a red-blooded Subaru of some sort. A BRX STI, anyone?
