TAG Heuer Honors F1's 80th Monaco GP With The New Monaco Skeleton

Made famous in movies like the 1971 film “Le Mans” by automotive legends like Steve McQueen, the TAG Heuer Monaco remains an iconic model in the watch industry since its release in 1969. Tying its name to one of Formula 1’s most significant race events, TAG Heuer is honoring the 80th running of the Monaco GP this weekend with a special Monaco Collection release. The all-new TAG Heuer Monaco Skeleton Chronograph features three unique colorways, crafting the 39mm square case design in a choice of black DLC or satin-finished grade 2 titanium.

The modern skeleton watch comes in three different dials. The “Original Blue” draws inspiration from the first-ever TAG Heuer Monaco blue dial launched in 1969. The “Racing Red” nods to the racing DNA of the TAG Heuer Monaco, with the color red referencing the racing sparks made on the tracks. The “Turquoise” styling on the black DLC models pays homage to Monaco’s luxurious coastline. The engine driving TAG Heuer’s new Monaco is an in-house Heuer 02 automatic chronograph movement, utilizing a 1/4 second counter, 30-minute counter, 12 hours counter, and date functions. Depending on the desired version, the Monaco Skeleton Chronograph comes fit on a comfortable blue or black nylon strap. The all-new TAG Heuer Monaco Skeleton Chronographs are currently available through authorized dealers starting at $10,750.
