Based on the likely 6C name, the new supercar will be equipped with a six-cylinder engine, and we already know that Alfa has a sublime one in the Giulia Quadrifoglio. In that car, the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 delivers 505 horsepower, but its on-paper specifications don’t tell the full story of an engine that is blessed with a spine-tingling aural character. If this is indeed the foundation of the 6C’s powertrain, we have a lot to look forward to.
Based on other comments made by Imparato, the new supercar will come with a lofty price tag, while TopGear has reported that there will be a focus on sales in China and a goal for 40% sales outside Europe. Fortunately, the company is also working on a more accessible GTV coupe successor that should be produced in higher volumes.
Either way, Alfa looks set to return to its unashamedly sporty roots, and we can’t wait to see what the new model looks like next month.
