Hyundai Motor Group has already canceled development of new gasoline engines, so this should be the final Genesis car with an internal combustion engine. The platform will remain the same, but the interior will reportedly receive major upgrades, likely to be more in line with the G90. Don’t expect any additional legroom in the rear, but updated screens and switchgear seem like obvious changes.
After the refreshed G70 debuts sometime in 2023, Genesis will reportedly reveal a second-generation model (codenamed RN2) in March 2026. This all-new G70 will be based on the electric E-GMP platform that underpins the GV60 as well as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. There will not be a gas-powered version sold alongside it.
