Pontiac is often credited for being the brand that started the muscle car movement, and they continued to be cutting edge designers within the GM family for decades. But one project that most folks may not know about was the two seater sports car seen below. From the thumbnail you might think this thing is just a Corvette with a Pontiac style grille, but that isn’t it. Sure, the early 1960’s concept cars from multiple GM makes ended up shaping the Corvettes of the future, but this thing here was something different entirely. The plan with this concept was a two seat sports car that was smaller, lighter, and more affordable for the masses. In truth, it would have been the Mazda Miata of the day. Or think of it like the small imported convertibles, but sexier and more refined.
