Chevrolet has announced an updated pricing strategy for the 2024 Equinox EV, one of GM’s more affordable electric vehicles. The bad news is that the battery-powered crossover is no longer the $30,000 crossover we were promised, with Car and Driver reporting that the base price has been pushed up to $34,995.
That MSRP will be affixed to the entry-level 1LT model, presumably with front-wheel drive. A dual-motor derivative with all-wheel drive is expected, but Chevrolet is yet to reveal pricing for that model. Initially, Chevrolet will launch the 2RS trim level in front- and all-wheel drive guises.
The former, which produces 210 horsepower, will have a starting price of $48,995, while the latter will be priced at $52,395. That’s quite steep, but 2RS models receive more amenities, including a power-operated tailgate, heated front seats, and a 17.7-inch touchscreen.
