Most people believe that once an actor becomes famous, they are set for life and will never face financial hardships. However, this cannot be any further from the truth. Recently, while explaining her tough times on a podcast, the popular television actress Rashami Desai revealed that she once became homeless for four days. During this time, she stated that she used to live out of her Audi A6 and eat Rs 20 meals to survive.
Rashami Desai revealed all of the details of her struggling phase on the Abraa Ka Dabra Show on YouTube. In this podcast, the actress talked about all of the things that went wrong with her and her family. She also talked about how she eventually came out of her struggling phase and managed to become financially stable.
She first highlighted that she incurred a debt of Rs 3.25-3.5 crore. The majority of this loan, which was around Rs 2.5 crore, was spent on her home. She stated that everything was going fine; however, unfortunately and abruptly, her television show was shut down. Due to this, she could not earn any money, and the stress of the situation got to her.
Rashami Desai added that all of these struggles started after she divorced her then-husband Nandish Sandhu. In the same podcast, she stated that after her show was cancelled, she left her home and cut off contact from everyone.
Lived out of her Audi A6
The actress, in the same podcast, also highlighted that she was homeless for four days. She used to live out of her Audi A6 and eat Rs 20 meals, which auto and rickshaw drivers used to have. The actress mentioned that there used to be some rice and dal mixed, which would come in a plastic bag, and two rotis wrapped in paper were given for Rs 20.
Rashami stated that she ate this meal for days. However, soon after, she picked herself back up and managed to find herself another show. She became a lead actress in the show Dil Se Dil Tak along with the late Sidharth Shukla and Jasmine Bhasin. Following the success of the show, she cleared off all her loans.
Rashami Desai’s Range Rover
There are not many details available about Rashami’s Audi A6. However, the actor a little while ago bought herself a used Range Rover Evoque from the previous generation. She bought a pre-owned Range Rover finished in a lovely shade of blue, and a short clip of this Range Rover Evoque getting delivered to her was shared online.
In this short video, the actress was seen cutting off the ribbon of a massive box created by the dealership outside her home. After this, all of the sides of the box fell down, revealing her Range Rover. Following this, she uncovered the car, and she was then seen behind the driver’s seat of her car.
We do not know which variant of the Range Rover was bought by Rashami Desai. However, this generation came powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine. It managed to produce 188 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. It came mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
