One of the first products that Toyota officially offered in the Indian market was Qualis MPV. It was launched back in 2000 and was available for sale till 2004. Qualis became popular among buyers in a short span of time. It offered a spacious cabin, premium looks and an extremely reliable engine. Toyota Qualis used to compete with Mahindra Bolero and Tata Sumo in its segment. Even today, there are some examples of well-maintained Toyota Qualis. Here we have one such neatly restored Qualis MPV that looks beautiful.
The video has been uploaded by Dajish P on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger speaks to the owner of this Toyota Qualis MPV. The car was completely restored into factory condition and it now comes with a custom interior too. The owner of this Qualis got the car repainted in its original Green and Silver dual-tone. This was extremely popular shade in the Qualis. The paint job was done at a garage in Kochi. The owner does not mention whether the car had any major dents or rust issues before painting.

The finished product does looks good and the gloss and finish of the paint job makes it look like a brand new car. The headlamps on this MPV were replaced and the stock ones had a yellow tint in them. The lights are halogens and the clear lens turn indicators are still there. The owner however has added an aftermarket LED DRL placed above the headlamp. The front bumper of the MPV gets a company fitted bullbar made from plastic. It was sold as an accessory from the dealerships. Below the bullbar is the large fog lamp unit. On the bonnet, a Toyota logo is installed. The owner had bought it from Saudi Arabia.
Coming to the side profile, the stock 14 inch steel rims on this MPV were replaced with aftermarket 15 inch alloys. The front wheels get spacer as the new wheels were rubbing against the car. The chrome garnishes on the front grille, tailgate, ORVMs have all bee restored to its full glory. It does not look like an old car at all. Coming to the interior, the owner of this Qualis has done customisation jobs here. The fabric seats on the Qualis have been replaced with custom fit leatherette upholstery. The upholstery is brown in colour and that matches with faux wooden inserts on the dashboard.
The steering wheel, dashboard and the all the original buttons on the center console and door have been retained. The instrument cluster also remains stock. In the video, we can see that this particular Qualis has done over 2 lakh km. This is not a huge number for a Toyota as these engines are known to last for a long time. We have even featured a Qualis on our website that has completed over 8 lakh km with just regular servicing from authorised service center. Coming back to this Qualis, the floor mats have been redone and there are two dedicated infotainment screens for second row passengers. The second row now comes with captain seats. The IRVM is an aftermarket unit which also shows feed from the reverse parking camera and sensors.
