While the museum got a bunch of familiar Toyota nameplates like the Corolla, the presenter also saw a Toyota 2000GT. But it wasn’t just any 2000GT as the automaker decided to swap an EV powertrain into the sports car. The 2000GT is one of the most sought-after Toyotas, known to command big bucks, so giving it an electric powertrain won’t sit well with diehard enthusiasts.
Apart from Toyota-badged cars, the museum also features a Lexus LFA in pearl yellow. Like the 2000GT, the LFA was also developed in partnership with Yamaha, which could explain why the 4.8-liter 1LR-GUE V10 remains among the favorites today regarding exhaust sound.
We don’t get a full tour with Chen, but even this small glimpse is more than many of us will ever get to see. He previously visited the Toyota Automobile Museum last year, giving us a peek behind the doors of one of Toyota’s greatest collections of classic and contemporary cars.
