And Toyota very well could pass on offering one given how well the model has sold here without the option. The company has seen its manual offerings explode in popularity, with nearly half of 2023 Supra orders being optioned with the manual, so perhaps it could create more strain on production than is worth.
The company has had to increase production of the hot hatch already to match demand which has been hot in just about every market. 6,600 were planned for the US market this year and that turned out to not be enough, so expect more for next year.
The company recently announced some chassis, aero, and steering upgrades for the GR Corolla in Japan. These include new gearbox mounts, front cross-member bolts, and wider front bumper ducts among other changes. Hopefully, these additions will make their way to our models in the near future and we’ll hear more about a potential automatic as well.
