You’re in for a surprise when you pop the hood. Most J60 models were equipped with a sizeable 4.0- or 4.2-liter naturally aspirated inline-six, which took up a lot of space. This J60 has enough room for a sizeable frunk, as the tiny electric motors are mounted low down. The battery pack is mounted under the cargo area, so the vehicle doesn’t have to sacrifice any of its practicality.
The vehicle’s specs haven’t been released yet. All will be revealed when this classic beauty makes its public debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show next week. It will join all the important launches and concepts from various automakers, including Toyota’s highly versatile Kayoibako van.
If you’re impressed with the restoration work, you’ll be delighted to know that Flex has set up shop in the US with a showroom in San Diego, California. One of its offerings is the Renoca Windansea, a retrofitted version of the third-generation Toyota Tacoma that starts at $52,800.
The company is also known for its classic Land Cruiser restorations as part of its product offerings.
