Measuring 184.8 inches long, 71.6 inches wide, and 73 inches tall, the X-Van Gear Concept is substantially smaller than the Toyota Sienna, making it ideal for navigating urban and off-road environments. It is almost the same size as the Delica D:5 in Japan, which will get a new-generation model previewed at JMS as the D:X Concept. The Mitsubishi concept also doesn’t have a B-pillar.
Toyota Auto Body has yet to reveal additional details, including platforms and powertrains, about the X-Van Gear Concept or the other two offerings in the range. Obviously, there are questions concerning safety and body rigidity, but let’s cross that bridge when the production version arrives – if at all.
But as we’re looking at the next generation of minivans prioritizing usability, space, and versatility, we couldn’t help but see this as a breath of fresh air in this age of SUVs and crossovers.
