Even though Daihatsu describes the interior as luxurious, the cabin is spartan and devoid of fripperies. A simple two-spoke steering wheel gives the driver a view of a compact instrumentation cluster.
The dashboard appears made from a transparent perspex material, with little to no controls. We’re guessing a concealed touchscreen pops out from somewhere, but then again, it’s a concept, meaning it doesn’t need everything a production car does. As for the item in the center, we’re stumped. Perhaps it’s an onboard air purifier?
Even if the Osanpo makes it to production, don’t expect to see this wacky yet wonderful EV arrive in the States. If Toyota were to bring Daihatsu back to the United States, we’re guessing enthusiasts would prefer the new Vision Copen concept, which previews a future Mazda Miata rival.
