For the uninitiated, the Solus GT’s 5.2-liter race-derived Judd V10 produces 829 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, allowing the single-seat hypercar to hit 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. It also revs beyond 10,000 rpm, making it the ultimate track day toy.
Only 25 McLaren Solus GTs will ever be made, and deliveries will occur later in 2023. However, it’s not a car you can go out and buy, as you had to be on a special list to get one, likely by a special offer from McLaren to owners who already own the creme-de-la-creme of the brand’s most iconic cars.
Each owner will receive an FIA-homologated race suit, helmet, and HANS (Head And Neck Support) device, plus a driver-development coaching program teaching owners how not to put it into the wall.
