“He was in business in two separate shops in Birmingham and started collecting cars at an early age. These cars need to be out where people can see them, so I finally talked my sister into selling the entire inventory,” said Hollander.
The collection mainly comprises rare and classic Corvettes, the oldest of which is a 1971 Stingray Coupe with 1,600 miles on the clock. It’s not the lowest mileage vehicle in the barn. That accolade belongs to a 1998 Corvette Indy Pace Car showing just 23 miles. Seven vehicles have less than 100 miles on the clock, suggesting they only have delivery mileage.
Not all of Trammel’s cars were garage queens, though. The 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible has a recorded 90,000 miles on the clock, while the 1956 Chevrolet 210 Sedan has 64,000 miles. Just one European car, a 1996 Porsche 911 C4S manual, forms part of the collection.
