We’ve made it through a monthly sales report, three earnings reports, so what are we missing? An auto show!
Specifically, the Chicago Auto Show, which kicks off for the media on Thursday, Feb. 9 at McCormick Place, not too far from Lake Michigan.
The show, which claims to be the largest in North America, typically focuses on trucks and SUVs. Toyota seems ready to keep that trend going with the introduction of the Toyota Grand Highlander on Wednesday night.
The new ute will be the first of many new vehicles from more than 20 automakers around the world. While pickups may be a little more prominent at the event, electric vehicles will definitely out in force, especially since the event boasts an indoor EV track.

Naturally, TheDetroitBureau.com will be on hand to cover the latest product unveilings as well as getting interviews with the industry’s top executives. Come to the site early and often to keep up with all that’s happening at the event.
However, just before Windy City fun begins, we’ll have our full review of the Ineos Grenadier. Executive Editor Larry Printz traveled all the way to the Scottish Highlands to put this rough-and-tumble upstart through its paces.
The ute, which will be sold in the U.S., was inspired by the Land Rover Defender — and a lengthy discussion in a British pub. We’ll tell you everything about it on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
