The week between Christmas and New Year’s is generally similar to one the leading into the holiday — quiet.

Jim Farley, Ford Motor Co. president and CEO, made a lot of news in 2022.

The slow news cycle also gives us some time to examine the year that was and what we believe may happen in the new year — or at least some of the things we’d like to see anyway.

(Check out this week’s Headlight News podcast by Clicking Here.)

In terms of 2022, we’ll look at the Top 11 automotive stories of the year. It’s safe assume there will be some very familiar names in those stories, including Musk, Barra, Farley and more. We’ll also chronicle our favorite new vehicle reviews of the year, which may lend you some insight into what we believe are interesting vehicles and even more compelling writing.

We’re also going to be looking ahead with a few pieces, including the top 10 stories we expect to write in 2023, the 16 new vehicles we want to drive and who we the big influencers will be in the industry in the new year. Again, expect some recognizable names … you know, Musk, Barra, Farley and more!

It’s also a chance to get our final looks at some 2022 model-year vehicles. We’ll be reviewing several offerings, such as the Hyundai Tucson XRT, Genesis G90, a Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission, and more.

Naturally, if news about the Consumer Electronics Show coming next week or anything else breaks, we’ll have it for you at TheDetroitBureau.com.
