You Can Lease A Lexus ES For Less Than A Toyota Camry Right Now

Key Takeaways

  • New Lexus ES lease deals make them less than the top-of-the-line Toyota Camry XLE.
  • This makes getting into the Lexus ES a better value despite its higher MSRP.
  • If you didn’t think you could afford a luxury car, now is your chance to get one at a steal.

Lease deals are a funny thing, because depending on the year and the introduction of new models, you can occasionally get into a luxury vehicle for less than something more affordably priced. The Lexus ES is one such example. According to Cars Direct, you can get a base 2024 ES 350 FWD for less than the price per month of a top-of-the-line 2025 Toyota Camry XLE.

Base MSRP

$42,040

Engine

3.5L V6 Gas

Horsepower

302 hp

Fuel Economy

22/32 MPG

They’re both great sedans, but the Lexus is the more comfortable and luxurious of the two. Normally, that would make it out of reach for modest budgets, but for the moment, it’s easier to budget for than the Camry.

The Monthly Payment

Given that the Camry just went into production, these are the first lease deals available for the model, and they reflect the high-interest Toyota expects for its top-selling sedan. The base LE starts at $359 for 36 months with $2,999 due at signing, but moving up to the XLE bumps that payment up by $100 to $469 for 36 months with $2,999 due at signing. That’s an effective monthly cost of $552.

The XLE is going to get you most of the options you want, but that’s still a hefty payment given the segment and it opens up the door for more expensive options like the Lexus ES. The base model 2024 ES 350 FWD is currently available for $399 per month over 36 months with $4,999 due at signing, which is an effective monthly cost of $538. That makes it easier on your monthly budget than the Camry XLE, as long as you can manage the extra down payment required.

ES Or Camry?

The Camry has the benefit of being all-new, arriving with updated styling that’s a bit more polarizing than before and a hybrid-only powertrain. It offers plenty of grunt for a sedan with up to 225 horsepower if you opt for AWD, but the real appeal here is the fuel economy. The XLE trim achieves 48/47/47 city/highway/combined mpg in FWD guise or 46/46/46 mpg in AWD guise. These are insane numbers, and completely blow away the ES 350 FWD’s 22/32/26 mpg fuel economy.

Toyota’s update to its midsize sedan is a huge sign that the state of the automotive landscape has shifted in a big way.

CarBuzz loved the Camry when we tested it, but while the interior is nice with great technology and new touchscreens, it’s still not as plush as the ES, which swallows you in luxury and delivers a comfortable ride. Additionally, the ES offers the 3.5-liter V6 that the Camry used to have, which gives it 302 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, and offers a ton of amenities for the price.
