Finnish racing driver Kimi Raikkonen may have retired from Formula 1, but his passion for anything fast keeps burning. It has now led him to a position as the chief performance adviser at Chinese EV maker Zeekr to develop the 001 FR, a high-performance electric shooting brake with 1,265 horsepower whose little brother has already shattered two Guinness World Records.
“[Zeekr] is excited to welcome racing champion Kimi Raikkonen to the team as chief performance adviser to make the [Zeekr 001 FR] faster and stronger,” said Zeekr in an X post (formerly Twitter).
Raikkonen, a.k.a. the Iceman, is no stranger to developing fast cars, working with engineers at F1 since his debut in 2001 with Sauber. Perhaps his most prized possession is the 2007 F1 Drivers’ Championship trophy with Scuderia Ferrari. Apart from F1, the Iceman joined other motorsport series, including NASCAR and World Rally Championship (WRC).
